Document Migrating to GameTap 4.0 using Internet Explorer 6
Attempting to migrate from the GameTap 3.5 player to GameTap 4.0 may be problematic when using Internet Explorer 6.  When launching the GameTap 3.5 player, you should be directed to GameTap.com where the GameTap 4.0 plugin will be installed and your games and user data will be migrated to the new application.  This migration process can lock up Internet Explorer 6, preventing the migration from completing.  The problem can be resolved as follows:
  1. If necessary, install Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 3.
  2. In either browser, go to www.gametap.com and log in with your existing TapID
  3. After logging in, you will be redirected to a migration page where the process of moving your games and data will be completed.
  4. After the migration completes, you can continue playing games on GameTap in Internet Explorer 6 if you choose.
